Future Perfect Simple vs Continuous

Future Perfect Simple & Continuous

Future Perfect (will have done) i Future Perfect Continuous (will have been doing): by, by the time, until, for. Kiedy ich używać, typowe błędy i ćwiczenia.

W skrócie

Future Perfect Simple (will have + III forma) mówi, że coś będzie już zakończone przed określonym momentem w przyszłości: By June I'll have finished my thesis. Future Perfect Continuous (will have been + -ing) podkreśla, jak długo coś będzie trwało do tego momentu: In May I'll have been working here for ten years.

Future Perfect Simple, zakończone przed momentem w przyszłości

Wyobrażasz sobie punkt w przyszłości i patrzysz z niego wstecz: co będzie już zrobione. Kluczowe słowo to by (do, najpóźniej do) i by the time (zanim, do czasu, gdy).

  • By the end of the month I'll have paid off the loan. Do końca miesiąca spłacę kredyt.
  • Hurry up! By the time we get there, the film will have started. Pospiesz się! Zanim tam dotrzemy, film już się zacznie.
  • Call me at 6, I'll have finished work by then. Zadzwoń o 6, do tego czasu skończę pracę.
  • Will they have built the new stadium by 2028? Czy zbudują nowy stadion do 2028 roku?
  • By the time you read this letter, I will have left the country. Kiedy będziesz czytać ten list, mnie już nie będzie w kraju.

Future Perfect Continuous, jak długo do momentu w przyszłości

Ta forma podkreśla czas trwania czynności liczony do pewnego momentu w przyszłości. Zwykle występuje z for + okres i określeniem tego momentu (by, in, next…). W codziennej mowie jest dość rzadka.

  • Next month I'll have been working here for five years. W przyszłym miesiącu minie pięć lat, odkąd tu pracuję.
  • By the time she retires, she'll have been teaching for 40 years. Kiedy przejdzie na emeryturę, minie 40 lat, odkąd uczy.
  • At 6 p.m. we'll have been driving for ten hours. O 18 będziemy w drodze od dziesięciu godzin.

Po spójnikach czasu (when, by the time, as soon as, after) zamiast Future Perfect używa się Present Perfect: I'll call you when I have finished., zobacz Zdania czasowe: when, as soon as, until, before + czas teraźniejszy.

Przypuszczenie o teraźniejszości lub przeszłości

Will have + III forma może też wyrażać przekonanie, że coś już się stało (podobnie jak must have). To użycie spotkasz głównie w brytyjskim angielskim.

  • It's 10 o'clock. They'll have arrived by now. Jest dziesiąta. Na pewno już dojechali.
  • Don't call him now, he'll have gone to bed. Nie dzwoń teraz do niego, na pewno już poszedł spać.

Typowe błędy Polaków

  • I will finish the report until Friday. → I will have finished the report by Friday. / I will finish the report by Friday. Until oznacza trwanie do pewnego momentu. Gdy chodzi o termin, przed którym coś się zakończy, używamy by (zwykle z Future Perfect).
  • By the time you will arrive, we will have eaten. → By the time you arrive, we will have eaten. Po by the time w odniesieniu do przyszłości stosujemy Present Simple, nie will.
  • By next year I will have finish my studies. → By next year I will have finished my studies. Po will have stoi III forma czasownika (past participle), nie bezokolicznik.
  • In June we will be married for ten years. → In June we will have been married for ten years. Liczenie czasu trwania do momentu w przyszłości wymaga Future Perfect (tu: will have been married).
  • I'll text you when I'll have finished. → I'll text you when I've finished. Po when w zdaniu o przyszłości zamiast Future Perfect używamy Present Perfect.
