Polecenia i prośby relacjonujemy wzorem tell / ask + osoba + (not) to + czasownik: She told me to wait. He asked me not to call. Bez cofania czasów.
W skrócie
czasownik + osoba + to + bezokolicznik
„Wait here.” → She told me to wait there.
„Please don't call after 10.” → He asked me not to call after 10.
Tu nie ma cofania czasów. Tryb rozkazujący zamieniasz na to + czasownik.
Łatwiej niż w twierdzeniach
To najprostsza część mowy zależnej: jeden wzór i żadnych zmian czasu. Trzeba tylko pamiętać o dwóch rzeczach:

Czasowniki, które zastąpią told
Każdy z nich działa tym samym wzorem: czasownik + osoba + (not) to. Dzięki nim od razu słychać, jaka to była wypowiedź.

Typowe błędy Polaków
- She told me don't worry. → She told me not to worry. Przeczenie w mowie zależnej to not to.

- They asked to me to help. → They asked me to help. Po ask osoba stoi bez to.
- The teacher told us that we open our books. → The teacher told us to open our books. Polecenie relacjonujemy przez to + czasownik, nie przez that.
- She asked me to not be late. → She asked me not to be late. Standardowy szyk: not przed to.
